Outdoor dinner: Soup in a thermos

Hot food and fresh air is a winning combination and a good reason to go outside. Having your dinner in fresh air does not have to be difficult and you don't need to cook it outside every time. Make something easy, pack your picnic bag and go somewhere nice to enjoy your dinner. It is a good reason to try out a new picnic spot or you can find a new favourite bench! Simply bring your food, relax and enjoy the good feeling of being outside. One of our favourite quick outdoor dinners is a filling tomato soup with chili beans!

Enjoy the good feeling nature brings and a good meal

Make something that is not time consuming, pack it and head for your favourite outdoor spot. It can be clever to find somewhere with a bench, table or flat ground, making it easier to serve and eat.  It can also be smart to find somewhere sheltered, then you don't have to worry about wind. Other than that, any place will do. Go to the beach, the park, a nice view point or somewhere you have always wanted to visit. It is all about spending some time outdoors without the need of achieving anything.  Just bring your dinner and enjoy the fresh air, a nice view and the good feeling that nature brings.

Quick dinner with a view

We made a quick tomato soup in a thermos for our first adventure out to Gásadalur (Faroe Islands) . This was a place we wanted to go to for a while, and we managed to squeeze it in between work and sunset, providing a lovely dinner right at the top of the cliff.

Tips for a sucsessfull outdoor dinner

Remember to bring cutlery (easy to forget)
Paper
Something to drink, and to drink from
If you bring a cold meal it can be good to bring hot drinks like tea or coffee.
Something to sit on, so you don't get wet and cold.
Bring extra clothes so you don't ruin the experience by being cold. Wool is always a good idea, it keeps you warm even when wet.
