Slow Session 2: DIY Wild Weather facial oil

Slow adventure brings us outside in all kinds of wild weather. Sometimes we even get it all in one day! The nordic countries are notorious for their changing weather, and you can easily experience four seasons in one day. Cold temperatures, sunlight and strong wind can make your skin sore and dehydrated. We always pack sunscreen and Pouting Panda - our homemade lip balm, but when our stiff faces need some extra nourishment, we pull out the homemade facial oil. We call it the Wild Weather Facial Oil. In this post we are going to show how to make it!

Wild Weather Facial Oil Ingredients

For the Wild Weather facial oil we use a lot of nourishing rich oils. It's not a blend we would recommend for everyday use, but it is the perfect rescue for dry skin. We use it for everything. If you have a dry spot, this will help!

1 Empty pump bottle dispenser
4/6 Base Oil: Thistle Oil, for lots of omega 3 & 6 fatty acids
1/6 Jojoba Oil - A powerful, long lasting moisturiser
1/6 Vitamin E Oil - An anti-oxidant that protects the skin
5 drops Mint Essential Oil - We just love the smell and it lifts our energy!
5 drops Sweet Orange Oil - Again, we love the smell and it is supposed to have anti-inflammatory properties.

Remember to do a small test of the oils on your arm, to check that you are not allergic. If you have any reactions, stop using the product.

How to make Wild Weather facial oil:

A love for natural skin care products

We're not skin care experts (yet!), but we love natural products - where we know and understand all the ingredients. This is the reason for why we started to play with different oils and how we landed on the combination for Wild Weather Facial Oil.

When you travel a lot, it is good to have one product for both face and body and we feel that this product delivers. We use it for: face, dry legs, dry feet, dry elbows and tangly hair.

When we make it, it is often not 100% equal to the last batch, we often run out of one oil and add a bit more of another. We like to play around with different smells and different base oils. For us it's a fun process that keeps on evolving. Please let us know if you make it and tell us how you like it.

Happy healthy faces - Out in wild weather
